Mohair comes from angora goats. These goats grow long, lustrous locks which must be sheared periodically to ensure the animal's health and comfort. When done correctly, goats are not harmed in this process. Cabra Creative sources mohair only from family-owned farms in the United States and has personal relationships with their suppliers. Every goat is cared for as one of the family, and they each have a name.

All Golden Fleece Mohair is processed in our studio in Sebastopol, California. Raw material is purchased from small, family farms within the United States. Your purchase helps support small businesses across the country! Art and gifts are all created here in the studio as well. Everything you purchase from Cabra Creative, with the exception of rooting needles, is completely hand made using original designs.

Yes! Custom orders are processed in the order they are received and must be a minimum of .50oz per color. Due to the lengthy process of transforming raw goat hair into beautiful locks, you may have to wait 1-2 weeks for your order to be finished. (Rush service of 2 days is available for an additional $25.) Contact us so we can determine exactly which type of hair and color is right for your project! The price for custom orders of mohair is $35.00 per .50oz plus a setup fee of $10 per color. Payment is due once your mohair is finished and photos are approved.
